This work also uses bromoil printing in a way similar to that found in Scene with Storehouse and Young Girl (cat. no. 58). The use of pigment printing to enhance the presence of the photographic subject has been criticized as stereotyped gimmickry. This artist’s work, as seen in this example, demonstrates instead the potential that using bromoil printing techniques offered, potential in tune with the era’s modernity.
