In Domestic Scandals, a series YASUMURA photographed at his home, the everyday interior objects are captured with the feeling that they were simply models. The camera is set so that the entire picture plane is in focus, and the sense of depth is ambiguous. The overall effect is strikingly unnatural. The series title asks what domesticity, what everyday life means and humorously depicts its fictional quality.
