Operation to invade Laos by the South Vietnamese government forces. About 25 kilometers from the Lao border, armored vehicle units touched a minefield and exploded with a loud noise. At that moment, soldier knocked down from the armored vehicle by the impact and knelt with a grenade in his right hand, and injured soldiers hugged in the far left. One of these series of photographs became the cover of the March 12, 1971 issue of "LIFE" 南ヴェトナム政府軍によるラオス侵攻作戦。ラオス国境から25キロほど進んだ地点で、装甲車部隊は地雷原に触れて大音響とともに爆発した。その瞬間装甲車からたたき落とされた兵士が、手榴弾銃を右手に膝をつき、さらに左奥では負傷した兵士たちが抱き合っていた。－この連続写真の1枚が『LIFE』1971年3月12日号の表紙となった
