The abacus which the apprentice has closely resembles it with “Portrait of Hasebe Tomojiro.” There are many points that are common elsewhere including the pose of the model and the placement of screen in the rear. So Renjo have prepared some symbolic small tools for a photo studio to express an occupation and manners and customs.
