ATGET photographed many streetscapes, but continued to use his old-fashioned large-format camera instead of the compact cameras that were already available on the market by 1921. (MAN RAY advised ATGET to use a compact camera and even lent him one.) In this photograph, the woman on the left is slightly blurred perhaps because she could not maintain her pose during the long exposure required.
