TSUDA Takashi set out from Hokkaido in the middle of winter to make a circuit of Japan, by bicycle, in eight months. On that journey, his rule was that he would ask someone he met at each stop about a site where he could put up a tent nearby, set up his tent where he was directed, and spend one night. The communication involved in seeking a place to sleep in an unknown place from strangers and the isolation of sleeping alone in a tent, in a foreign place (especially in bitterly cold areas), and to repeat it daily, was the experience behind this series.
