This photographer produced many outstanding portraits while operating a commercial photography studio. He also showed many of his landscapes and still lifes, bromoil prints with rag-wipe retouching, in public exhibitions. In this work we see a lotus blossom blooming in a pond. The combination of straight enlargement and subtle retouching reveals a pictorial world from which perspective has been erased.
