Photographers who studied with this researcher, who was a pioneer in the study of color photography, included KIMURA Ihee. Nonetheless, this is his only surviving work. The three-color bromoil printing process used to produce this photograph had spread world wide but was almost never used in Japan. The soft color tones in this still life demonstrate the potential of Pictorialism.
